Fox News accuses Obama of Pre-K Konspiracy

Kudos to Think Progress for first reporting this.

Apparently President Obama is trying to run some “serious game” on our nation’s children. In this deafening little tidbit from Fox News (where else?, anchor Steve Doocy and commentator Stuart Varney accuse the Commander-In-Chief of trying to buy off the votes of 4-yr olds with his proposed national Pre-K program. I wish I could say this was an exaggeration, but it is the sad truth…

Varney: “Look what the President is doing here. It’s a repeat performance of his campaign, which is… you raise taxes on the rich, and you offer all kinds of ‘free stuff’ to people who will vote for you in the future… He’s buying votes with future tax-payer money.”

Yes because universal Pre-K is the kind of “free stuff” that Democrats like. Republican kids could care less about getting an educational head start. Except for when they live in states like Oklahoma or Georgia who already offer universal Preschool programs… and VERY popular ones at that. Unlike the clawing tooth and nail that happens in cities like New York and Chicago, every child in Oklahoma is guaranteed a spot in Pre-K. Funded by the good ‘ol Oklahoma taxpayers. O-K!!

It’s those very same programs that have paved the way for parts of rapidly-bluing Texas to do the same thing. Last November, the city of San Antonio passed a referendum to create Pre-K for SA, and because of that, all San Antonio kids will soon have universal Pre-school. If Obama’s really trying to win over the votes of kids, shouldn’t he start with the Liberal strongholds first? And as a man who has already been elected to a Second Term as President, Barack Obama literally has “nowhere to run”. The President is term-limited in the Constitution (as Fox News knows VERY well), so it wouldn’t exactly behoove him to waste so much energy into those 2030 eligible voters!!

I’ve seen some Fox News FAILS, but this one is a real DOOCY.

Unbroken news: Who’s NOT sharing today’s SCOTUS announcement

Yes that’s right… Fox News. How did you guess?

Apparently, breaking news that the Supreme court has decided to take up landmark cases on both California’s Prop 8 and the Defense of Marriage Act isn’t really “newsworthy” to the Right-wing network. Given the outcome, these decisions, to be handed out on June 27th of 2013, could re-make the Civil Rights landscape for the GLBT community. But on the front page of their website, they bury it about halfway down…

Well, I understand that the network has a wide online readership. Perhaps the history-making headline was good enough for the U.S. section? After all, it is news that applies only to the United States.

Uh, ok. The last shot here… a specific section on politics. There wasn’t any bigger news of the day…

Quite sad, but this is how the Right-Wing machine has been engineered. Insulate the readership so that they can live in their own bubble, and thusly, be uninformed.

And in case you missed the New York Times hyperlink from the top, here’s their Breaking News headline for December 7th, 2012…

Thom Ricks Says Fox News is a “Wing of The Republican Party”

As of late, Fox News can’t seem to escape the truth. First it was their beloved right-leaning economist Ben Stein saying Taxes have to go up.

And this morning, Fox News gets caught in its own trap again. Thom Ricks, a well-noted military journalist and author, calls out the network for over-hyping the Benghazi situation. Take a look for yourself. News anchor John Scott doesn’t push back on Mr. Ricks’ comments, but simply cuts the interview short.

And there you have it.

Bill O’Reilly said “what” about birth control?

A very interesting clip from 2008. Fox News host Bill O’Reilly, responding to a John McCain interview with Planned Parenthood, defends the use of Viagra for men as a legitimate health issue, while saying that a woman’s use of birth control is a “choice”.

Is anyone else tired of these ridiculous double standards??
